SUMMARY:21st Wegener Assembly\, Albania
DESCRIPTION:The Institute of Geosciences (IGEO) and joint IAG-IASPEI sub-commission “Seismo-geodesy” are delighted to invite you to the 21st WEGENER Assembly\, which will take place in Tirana\, Albania\, from October 13–15\, 2026. \nWEGENER meetings gather geodesists and geoscientists working in the Mediterranean\, earthquake processes and geodynamics. The WEGENER meeting is supported by International Association of Geodesy (IAG) and the International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth’s Interior (IASPEI)\, through Sub-commission 3.5 “Seismo-Geodesy” joint between IAG and IASPEI. \nWhether you are an established researcher\, an early-career scientist\, or a student\, Wegener assembly offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas\, develop collaborations\, and strengthen our scientific community. \nThe meeting will be hosted by the Institute of Geosciences part of Polytechnic University of Tirana. \nAbstract submission and registration will open February\,2 2026. Early-bird registration will be available until July 15\, 2026. Proposed sessions are: \n1. Motion and deformation of the Mediterranean: from kinematics to dynamics\n2. Plate Boundary and Intraplate Processes from Geodetic Observations\n3. Faults and Earthquake Cycle Processes\n4. Geodesy Contribution to Seismic Hazard Assessment & Mitigation\n5. SUMMARY:12 Spanish-Portuguese Assembly of Geodesy & Geophysics
DESCRIPTION:The Spanish-Portuguese Assembly of Geodesy and Geophysics\, which held its first meeting in Almería in 1998\, began meeting every two years\, alternating between the two countries responsible\, Spain and Portugal. Over the course of its sessions\, it has established itself as a research forum in the fields of Geodesy\, Seismology\, Meteorology\, Geomagnetism\, Hydrology\, Oceanography\, Volcanology\, Applied Geophysics\, and Cryospheric Sciences\, as well as a place for meeting and scientific exchange between Spanish and Portuguese researchers through the presentation and discussion of papers in these fields. The COVID-19 period marked the largest gap in the established periodicity\, which we now wish to resume. Thus\, two years after the last meeting\, which took place in Évora in 2024\, the 2026 meeting will be held in Spain. Next June\, from the 16th to the 19th\, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and its Higher Technical School of Topography\, Geodesy\, and Cartography will host the 12th Spanish-Portuguese Assembly of Geodesy and Geophysics.

DESCRIPTION:EPOS Days is the flagship annual conference of the European Plate Observing System (EPOS)\, bringing together researchers\, data providers\, and infrastructure developers from across Europe to advance collaboration in solid Earth science. The event serves as a key forum to discuss the evolution of EPOS as a pan-European research infrastructure and to showcase progress in data interoperability\, FAIR principles\, and service integration across the various Thematic Core Services (TCS). \nThe programme combines plenary talks\, thematic sessions\, and interactive discussions covering: \n\nintroductions to EPOS and its services for newcomers and partners;\nupdates from the different TCS communities\, including geodesy\, seismology\, volcanology\, and geomagnetism;\nsessions on technical challenges\, data policy\, and ICS–TCS integration;\ndiscussions on responsible and societal use of research infrastructures;\ninternational collaboration and national implementation showcases;\nnetworking opportunities such as poster sessions and a dedicated Early Career Researchers event.\n\nOverall\, EPOS Days provides a dynamic platform to exchange knowledge\, align technical developments\, and strengthen the community working towards a FAIR\, open\, and sustainable EPOS infrastructure for solid Earth science in Europe.

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce that registration for the “2025 Glacial Isostatic Adjustment workshop: Advancing Models and Observational Constraints” taking place on June 2nd to 6th\, 2025\, in Sidney (British Columbia\, Canada) & online\, is now open. \nTo register\, please visit our website at https://polenet.org/2025-gia-workshop-registration/. \nPlease note that space is limited by the physical capacity of the workshop venue. Depending on the level of interest\, it may be necessary to cap in-person registration. If needed\, priority will be given to individuals with accepted abstracts and invited speakers\, with the remaining in-person registration seats offered on a first come\, first served basis. A notification will be posted on the workshop website (https://polenet.org/2025-gia-workshop/) if all in-person spaces have been filled. Registration deadline is April 11th\, 2025\, for in-person attendees.
