SUMMARY:AGU Fall Meeting 2022 - GGOS Session
DESCRIPTION:AGU Fall Meeting 2022 will be held in Chicago and online everywhere 12 – 16 December 2022. More than 25\,000 attendees from more than 100 countries will convene to explore how Science Leads the Future. \n \nGeodesy for Sustainable Earth Observation\nGGOS has its own session “Geodesy for Sustainable Earth Observation”\, please participate: \nThe Global Geodetic Observing System (GGOS) provides measurements of the gravity\, rotation\, and shape of the Earth using space and terrestrial geodetic techniques. These measurements must be accurate to better than a part per billion in order to advance our understanding of the underlying processes responsible for temporal changes in the Earth’s rotation\, gravity\, and shape. Demanding applications of geodesy include mass transport in the global water cycle\, sea level and climate change\, and crustal deformation associated with geohazards. All these measurements require a common reference with the same precision\, like the terrestrial reference frame and the unified height system. GGOS is designed to unite the individual observations and model into one consistent frame with the highest precision available. This session welcomes contributions on topics relevant to GGOS\, particularly those related to its scientific and social aspects\, geodetic infrastructure\, observations/products\, and activities of services. \nFor more information and the program of all geodesy sessions\, please visit https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm22/meetingapp.cgi/Program/3397 \n

SUMMARY:1st Workshop on Data Science for GNSS Remote Sensing
DESCRIPTION:There has been recently a rapid progress in Earth observation using GNSS signals from numerous ground and satellite based platforms as well as modern data scientific approaches for their analysis\, including machine learning and data assimilation techniques. We believe it is the right time to gather scientists interested in interdisciplinary activities linking these two research areas to foster a creative and intense scientific exchange and collaborations. Our ultimate goal is the provision of advanced and versatile GNSS Remote Sensing data products on different spatio-temporal scales for Earth System science and related operational applications to advance early warning systems and numerical weather forecasts. \nThis meeting will be hosted by the German Research Centre for Geosciences GFZ and will take place on the historic “Telegrafenberg” in Potsdam on June\, 13-15\, 2022. At the moment\, it is planned as a face-to-face meeting. However\, the organizers carefully observe the pandemic situation and will adapt the meeting format accordingly. \nPlease feel free to visit the workshop website www.D4G-2022.de

SUMMARY:EGU General Assembly 2022 – GGOS Session
DESCRIPTION:GGOS has its own session at the next EGU General Assembly 2022. Be aware\, that the dates of EGU GA 2022 was moved from begin of April to 23-27 May 2022. \nMore information will follow … \n\nThe Global Geodetic Observing System: Geodesy for Science and Society\nThe Global Geodetic Observing System (GGOS) provides measurements of the time varying gravity\, rotation\, and shape of the Earth using space and terrestrial geodetic techniques. GGOS is designed to unite the individual observations and model into one consistent frame with the highest precision available to be realized as Global Geodetic Reference Frame (GGRF). This session welcomes contributions on general GGOS topics\, particularly those related to scientific and social aspects of GGOS applications. \nConvener: Kosuke Heki | Co-conveners: Martin Sehnal\, Allison Craddock\, Laura Sanchez\, David Mayer \nhttps://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU22/session/43044 \n  \n  \n  \n
