SUMMARY:IGS Workshop 2026
DESCRIPTION:Chile – where the crust trembles daily and even a traditional cocktail is nicknamed the “Earthquake” – will become the epicenter of an unprecedented scientific gathering in South America. \nOn behalf of the Local Organizing Committee\, we are pleased to formally announce the International GNSS Service (IGS) Workshop 2026\, which will take place from the 1st to the 5th of June 2026 at the Intercontinental Santiago. \nThe IGS Workshop serves as the premier global forum for advancing GNSS and geodesy. Hosted jointly by the University of Santiago de Chile (USACH) and the Military Geographic Institute (IGM)\, the 2026 edition will bring together leading experts\, researchers\, and practitioners to exchange insights\, showcase technological breakthroughs\, and define the trajectory of global geodetic infrastructure. \nKey Details : \n\nDates : 1-5 June 2026\nVenue : Intercontinental Santiago (Avenida Vitacura 2885\, 7550023 Las Condes\, Región Metropolitana\, Chile)\nWebsite : https://www.igs-workshop-2026.com\nGeneral Inquiries : workshop2026@igs.org

SUMMARY:EU-wide Community Workshop on Quantum Gravimetry
DESCRIPTION:This in-person workshop is organized with the main objective to obtain feedback by the entire European community. Opinions\, comments and thoughts on EQUIP-G project activities will contribute to shaping key aspects on the future of (terrestrial) gravimetry. This is centered around the main long-term goal to establish a permanent perennial entity of a shared park of quantum gravimeters in Europe. \nThe workshop is addressed to all interested and relevant person from EU policymaker to European companies and geophysical service providers and different communities (geodesy\, quantum sensing\, metrology\, geosciences and defense). We want to underline that the focus area is Europe. \nParticipants will be informed not only about the project structure and goals but about finished\, ongoing and planned activities\, spanning the entire scope of the project. The workshop involves various formats (presentations\, panel discussions\, display area\, break-out activities and discussions). \nJoin\, be active and enjoy this workshop which is organized for all of us! \n\nEvent website and registration: https://events.spacepole.be/event/268/\nProject website: https://www.equip-g.eu/

SUMMARY:12 Spanish-Portuguese Assembly of Geodesy & Geophysics
DESCRIPTION:The Spanish-Portuguese Assembly of Geodesy and Geophysics\, which held its first meeting in Almería in 1998\, began meeting every two years\, alternating between the two countries responsible\, Spain and Portugal. Over the course of its sessions\, it has established itself as a research forum in the fields of Geodesy\, Seismology\, Meteorology\, Geomagnetism\, Hydrology\, Oceanography\, Volcanology\, Applied Geophysics\, and Cryospheric Sciences\, as well as a place for meeting and scientific exchange between Spanish and Portuguese researchers through the presentation and discussion of papers in these fields. The COVID-19 period marked the largest gap in the established periodicity\, which we now wish to resume. Thus\, two years after the last meeting\, which took place in Évora in 2024\, the 2026 meeting will be held in Spain. Next June\, from the 16th to the 19th\, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and its Higher Technical School of Topography\, Geodesy\, and Cartography will host the 12th Spanish-Portuguese Assembly of Geodesy and Geophysics.
