SUMMARY:XI Hotine-Marussi Symposium
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to the XI Hotine-Marussi Symposium\, which will be held in Genoa\, Italy\, September 7-11\, 2026 under the scientific coordination of the Intercommission Committee on Theory (ICCT) of the International Association of Geodesy (IAG). \nThe main goals of the Symposium are aligned with the objectives of ICCT:\n• advances in theoretical geodesy\,\n• developments in modelling and data processing in the light of recent advances of geodetic observing systems\n• interdisciplinary cooperation between geodesy and other Earth and planetary sciences \nIn particular\, all topics related to activities of the ICCT Study Groups are of interest and submission of related papers are strongly encouraged. Contributions concerning other topics related to possible interactions and mutual benefits between geodetic theory and methodology\, and other initiatives and projects involving Earth and planetary sciences (for example the Group on Earth Observation) are welcome. \nDeadline for abstract submission is April 19\, 2026. Upon abstract submission\, the corresponding author will have to indicate the preference for oral or poster presentation. Each abstract will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and decision on acceptance will be notified by e-mail to the corresponding author by May 17\, 2026.\nAccepted papers will be published by Springer in an Open Access volume of the official IAG series. \nThe Symposium will be held in the center of Genoa (Liguria Region\, Italy)\, which is easily accessible by several bus routes and by the underground. The scientific programme will be complemented with a social one\, including a tour and a social dinner. An Early Career Scientist event will be organized too. \nWe look forward to warmly welcome you in Genoa! \nMattia Crespi\, Amir Khodabandeh\, Pavel Novák\, Riccardo Barzaghi\nDomenico Sguerso\, Bianca Federici\, Ilaria Ferrando\, Paola Salmona \nMore Info – Event Website: https://hotinemarussi2026.unige.it/

SUMMARY:17th European VLBI Network Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The European VLBI Network Symposium is the main forum for discussion of the latest Very Long Baseline Interferometry scientific results and technical and technological developments within the EVN member countries. The purpose of this biennal meeting is to bring together the global VLBI community to exchange knowledge\, share new research\, discuss advancements in VLBI techniques\, and foster a collaborative community in radio astronomy. This year\, for the first time\, there will be a dedicated session on geodetic and astrometric VLBI.

SUMMARY:ITGRF Workshop 2026
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 ITGRF workshop will provide an excellent opportunity to advance the International Terrestrial Gravity Reference Frame and to discuss current activities within the IAG Joint Working Group 2.1.1. The workshop will focus on ensuring the compatibility of absolute gravity observations\, establishing and maintaining gravity reference stations\, and developing a modern\, user-oriented infrastructure for end-users. It will bring together experts in absolute gravimetry\, gravity monitoring\, and reference frame realization to exchange knowledge and coordinate future work. \nThe International Terrestrial Gravity Reference Frame (ITGRF) is developed by the International Association of Geodesy and is based on accurate observations from absolute gravimeters and continuous gravity monitoring at reference stations. Its primary objective is to replace the obsolete International Gravity Reference Standardization Network (IGSN71) defined in the early 1970s with a modern\, consistent global gravity reference. \nThe workshop will be hosted in 2026 by the British Geological Survey’s Space Geodesy Facility at Herstmonceux Castle in East Sussex\, a site with a strong scientific heritage as the former home of the Royal Greenwich Observatory. \n\nMore info here [PDF] \n\nBooking/registration information is not yet available and will follow soon.
