Workshop 2 of the SAGWG takes place on 1–2 October 2026 at DLRRD Pretoria (617 Willow Rd, Pretoria Central), organized by the South African Geospatial Working Group and chaired by Aletha de Witt and Aslam Parker.

The program opens with an introductory “setting the scene” session, then works through the group’s eight thematic pillars — Foundations, Advocacy/Communications/Outreach, Infrastructure and Operations, Spectrum Protection, Data/Standards/Open Access, Reference Systems and Regional Frames, Human Capital Development, and R&D/next-gen supply chain innovation — before closing with a wrap-up session.

As an added feature, participants can join an excursion to the SANSA Space Operations facility and the SARAO HartRAO site near Krugersdorp.
