GGOS-Africa Workshop 2026 takes place 5–7 October in Nairobi, Kenya, marking the first workshop of GGOS Africa, which has just been officially adopted as a GGOS Affiliate by the Global Geodetic Observing System.
In-person attendance is by invitation, but all talks are streamed free online — registration grants access to the livestream, and recordings/slides will be posted afterward for anyone who misses a session.
Over the three days, speakers from across Africa and the international geodetic community will cover the state of geodetic infrastructure and human capacity in Africa (including first results of the GGOS Africa survey), AFREF, CORS networks, vertical datums and space geodesy, country presentations and contributions to geodynamics/astronomy/space weather, training and regional/analysis centres, and the way forward for GGOS Africa — closing with adoption of the workshop resolutions on Wednesday, 7 October.
