International Geological Congress IGC 2028 – First Circular

The Canadian Geophysical Union 2028 will join the 38th International Geological Congress (IGC 2028), held in Calgary, Canada, from August 12-20, 2028. Detailed information about IGC 2028 can be found in the First Circular.

We are inviting colleagues to submit sessions to the “Geomatics and Geodesy theme” (Category V, Group AJ) covering the following areas (but not limited to):

  1. Gravity and reference frames
  2. Solid Earth
  3. Glacial Isostatic Adjustment (GIA) and Sea Level
  4. Active tectonics and hazards (cross-referenced with Geohazards and Geophysics groups)
  5. GNSS (including reflectometry and Earth observation)
  6. Hydrology and environmental applications

Sessions can be submitted until March 2027 via the Scientific Program Portal.

Your contribution will be vital in highlighting the role of Geodesy in addressing global challenges under the conference theme “Geosciences for Humanity”.
