Geodesy group of Aalborg University is planning to have a summer school at the Geodesy Group, Aalborg University, August 25-28 2026. The school will be for four days and focusing on training Early Careers to improve their skill of satellite data processing and hydrological data assimilation. The program will be ~50%-50% on theory and practical sessions. The focus will be on advanced techniques and open challenges in measuring and modeling the water cycle, as well as integrating satellite-based observations, including Satellite Gravity (GRACE/GRACE-FO and future missions NGGM/MAGIC), Satellite Altimetry (Sentinel and SWOT), and Soil Remote Sensing into large-scale hydrological models. Participants will be introduced to ensemble-based sequential Data Assimilation techniques for merging satellite data with models. The school emphasises hands-on learning, featuring practical exercises in Python, along with various interactive activities.
The school is free of charge, but a registration process will be followed to select the most relevant audiences. The registration link will be announced soon.
