FAGS – Federation of Astronomical and Geophysical Data Analysis Services

The Federation of Astronomical and Geophysical Data Analysis Services (FAGS) was an international organization established in 1956 by the International Council for Science (ICSU) to coordinate various scientific services in astronomy, geodesy, and geophysics. Its purpose was to link and standardize data and analysis centers worldwide, ensuring consistency and accessibility of scientific information. In 2009, FAGS was merged with the World Data Center (WDC) system to form the World Data System (WDS), which continues its mission of promoting global data sharing and long-term data stewardship.
