IAG Scientific Assembly 2025 – Third Circular
We are pleased to remind you that the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) will hold its Scientific Assembly in Rimini (Italy) on September 1-5, 2025.
Many thanks to all of you who submitted an abstract for presenting your work at the IAG Scientific Assembly. The selection of those abstracts to be presented during the four parallel oral sessions, as well as those abstracts to be presented during the poster sessions has been finalized by the conveners. We will have 48 oral sessions (90 minutes each) where altogether 300 oral presentations are scheduled. In addition, we will have 388 poster presentations with roughly 100 posters per day.
Please refer to the official web site https://eventi.unibo.it/iag2025 for further details about the program including the scheduling of the individual contributions. All authors will find there also guidelines regarding preparation of the poster.
Social Events
As the Scientific Assembly is a good opportunity to enhance networking within IAG, we are happy to announce two additional social events that will be (partly) sponsored by IAG:
1) “Early Career Scientists Dinner” on Monday
2) “Women in Geodesy Breakfast” on Tuesday
If you want to participate, please check the rules and guidelines and register as soon as possible via the official website https://eventi.unibo.it/iag2025/social-program as there are limited number of places. Many thanks to the colleagues taking care of the organization of these events!
IAG Travel Grants
The IAG strives for increasing the participation of young scientists in the Scientific Assembly. As we know that limited budget typically hinders young scientists from participating in scientific meetings, the IAG Bureau decided to use a certain amount of money to provide financial support for ALL Early Career Scientists (ECS), i.e. independent of their home country. This is in addition to the normal IAG travel grants where only ECS in low and mid economy countries are eligible.
Therefore, we now would like to encourage also ECS from high economy countries to apply for an IAG Travel Grant for the IAG Scientific Assembly 2025 in Rimini. Please refer to the IAG web site for further details about the application procedure and the definition of ECS: https://geodesy.science/iag/awards/iag-travel-award/ .
Please send your application including all required documents by July 31st at latest. Later submissions cannot be considered in this case. The amount of money allocated to those ECS from high economy country depends on the total amount of applicants, and this special budget will be distributed equally between all eligible applicants. For all other IAG Travel Grants, there will be no changes compared to the rules provided on the web site.
We are looking forward to see you in Rimini for the IAG Scientific Assembly 2025.
