OMCT – Ocean Model for Circulation and Tides

OMCT (Ocean Model for Circulation and Tides) is a numerical ocean model that simulates global ocean circulation and tidal dynamics, including mass redistribution within the oceans. It provides time-variable ocean bottom pressure and mass variations derived from physical modeling of ocean processes.

In geodesy, OMCT products are used to model and correct for non-tidal ocean loading and mass variability effects in space-geodetic observations such as GNSS, VLBI, SLR, and satellite gravimetry. These corrections are essential for precise positioning, gravity field determination, and the interpretation of temporal geodetic signals related to Earth system processes.
