FES2014b – Finite Element Solution 2014b
FES2014b (Finite Element Solution 2014b) is a high-resolution global ocean tide model developed by CNES and LEGOS. It describes the ocean’s tidal motion caused by the gravitational forces of the Moon and the Sun, providing precise estimates of tidal heights and phases worldwide. The model combines satellite altimetry data, hydrodynamic simulations, and data assimilation to achieve high accuracy. FES2014b is widely used in geodesy, gravimetry, and satellite orbit determination to account for ocean tidal loading and related tidal effects.
