RTK – Real‑Time Kinematic

Real-time kinematic positioning (RTK) is a surveying technique used to correct common errors in modern satellite navigation (GNSS) systems. It relies not only on the signal’s transmitted data but also on measurements of the carrier wave phase. By using a single reference station—or a network-based virtual station—to deliver real-time corrections, RTK can achieve positioning accuracy at the centimeter level (see DGPS).
