SMAP – Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) Microwave Radiometer Mission

SMAP (Soil Moisture Active Passive) is a NASA mission using a microwave radiometer and radar to measure global soil moisture and freeze-thaw state. It provides high-resolution data critical for weather prediction, climate studies, hydrology, and agriculture. SMAP observations also support Earth system science by linking soil moisture variations to water, energy, and carbon cycles.
