Save the Date: GGOS Days 2026 & Topical Meeting

,

The Global Geodetic Observing System (GGOS) of the International Association of Geodesy announces two consecutive meetings in early October 2026 in Gävle, Sweden. Both events will be held in a hybrid format (on-site and online) and aim to bring together the geodetic community for exchange, coordination, and forward-looking discussions.

GGOS Topical Meeting on Geohazards | 2 October 2026

This focused meeting will address the monitoring of geohazards using geodetic techniques, with particular emphasis on SAR/InSAR methods and regional monitoring networks. The goal is to connect ongoing initiatives, foster collaboration, and identify scientific and operational gaps that GGOS and IAG can help address. Participants are invited to contribute to discussions and help shape future directions in geodetic geohazard monitoring.

GGOS Days 2026 | 5–7 October 2026

GGOS Days 2026 will serve as a broader forum for the geodetic community. The meeting will feature updates on GGOS activities, discussions on current initiatives, and opportunities to engage with colleagues working across the Earth system sciences. The event is open to all interested in geodesy and its role in observing and understanding our planet.
