16th SIRGAS School: “VLBI and SLR Data Processing”
📍 San Juan, Argentina | October 27 to November 1, 2025
The 16th SIRGAS School will be held at the Félix Aguilar Astronomical Observatory in San Juan, Argentina, from October 27 to November 1, 2025. This activity is part of the training initiatives promoted by SIRGAS, aimed at strengthening technical capacities in geodesy in Latin America.
The course will focus on the processing of VLBI (Very Long Baseline Interferometry) and SLR (Satellite Laser Ranging) data, two fundamental techniques for defining and maintaining global geodetic reference frames.
🎯 Course Objective
To provide the theoretical foundations and practical tools necessary for the analysis and processing of VLBI and SLR data, with an emphasis on their application in high-precision geodesy.
👥 Target audience:
- Professionals and graduates in geodesy and related fields
- Scientists specializing in geodesy and geophysics
- Technical staff from national cartographic and geographic agencies
- Advanced students interested in geodesy and space technology
