Physical Height
A physical height represents the distance of a point above a reference surface that is related to the Earth’s gravity field, such as the geoid or quasigeoid. It is determined through geodetic levelling combined with gravity data, reflecting the true “height above sea level.” Physical heights depend on variations in gravity and therefore differ from purely geometric heights.
