ITRF2020 – International Terrestrial Reference Frame 2020
ITRF2020 is the 2020 realization of the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF), providing precise coordinates and velocities of globally distributed geodetic stations. It is computed by combining observations from multiple space-geodetic techniques, including GNSS, VLBI, Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR), and DORIS.
In geodesy, ITRF2020 represents a fundamental reference for precise positioning, satellite orbit determination, Earth rotation studies, sea level monitoring, and the consistent integration of geodetic observations worldwide. It ensures a stable and accurate global reference frame that supports scientific research, geophysical interpretation, and practical geospatial applications.
