AAM – Atmospheric Angular Momentum

Atmospheric Angular Momentum (AAM) describes the rotation of Earth’s atmosphere and how it exchanges momentum with the solid Earth. Changes in AAM influence wind patterns and can even cause small variations in Earth’s rotation speed and day length.
