EOP – Earth Orientation Parameter

Earth Orientation Parameters describe the irregularities and variations in the rotation of the Earth. They include polar motion, UT1‑UTC (universal time differences), and nutation/precession. EOPs are essential in geodesy and astronomy to transform coordinates between the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF) and the International Celestial Reference Frame (ICRF), ensuring accurate satellite positioning, navigation, and Earth observation measurements.
