XV SPANISH MEETING ON INNOVATION IN PUBLIC SERVICES (CNIS) | MADRID, SPAIN | MARCH 27-28, 2025
The XV Spanish Meeting on Innovation in Public Services (CNIS 2025) was held on 27 and 28 March 2025 at La Nave in Madrid, bringing together more than 1,000 public sector professionals and innovators to share solutions, experiences and best practices for modernising public services in Spain under the slogan “Nuevos retos: Nuevas soluciones”. Organised as the country’s flagship event on public administration transformation, CNIS 2025 featured over 100 activities including plenaries, roundtables, workshops and demonstrations on key issues such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data management and cybersecurity, with broad participation from national and local government leaders and digital innovation experts. [1]
Among the programme’s diverse sessions was a dedicated “Mesa35: Talento joven sin barreras” (Young talent without barriers panel) [2], where Esther Azcue Infanzón, Jefa de Servicio in the Red de Infraestructuras Geodésicas at the Instituto Geográfico Nacional, took part as a speaker. Her participation highlighted the increasing relevance of geodetic infrastructure and services within broader public administration innovation and science policy discussions, connecting themes of data quality, geospatial information and institutional collaboration to digital public service delivery.
Esther Azcue’s presence at CNIS 2025 thus reflects a cross‑disciplinary bridge between geoscience research, geodetic infrastructure initiatives like GGOS IberAtlantic, RAEGE (Atlantic Network of Geodesy and Space Stations) and public sector innovation — showing how advanced measurement networks and geospatial capabilities contribute to the innovation and transformation of public services and evidence‑based decision‑making in government.
