12TH SPANISH PORTUGUESE ASSEMBLY OF GEODESY AND GEOPHYSICS (AHPGG) | MADRID, SPAIN | JUNE 2026

The 12th Spanish-Portuguese Assembly of Geodesy and Geophysics took place from 16–19 June 2026 at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), in Madrid. The Assembly brought together researchers from Spain and Portugal to discuss recent advances in Geodesy, Geophysics, and related Earth sciences.

The Geodesy session, was chaired by the GGOS-IA board members Esther Azcue Infanzón (Instituto Geográfico Nacional), Helena Cristina Ribeiro (Direção-Geral do Território), and David Rodríguez Collantes (Real Instituto y Observatorio de la Armada).

Esther Azcue opened the session with a presentation on GGOS IberAtlantic. The presentation provided an overview of the initiative and highlighted recent outreach activities, including the launch of a new informational leaflet, the development of this regular newsletter, and updates to the GGOS IberAtlantic website, aimed at improving visibility and engagement within the geodetic community.
