Honorary Officers –ย IAG Fellows

According to the IAG By-laws the IAG Executive Committee has the authority to recognize and honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) through dedicated service in leadership roles. These honorary titles serve as a testament to the IAGโ€™s deep appreciation for the commitment and impact of its past leaders, ensuring that their contributions continue to be acknowledged and valued within the geodetic community.

IAG Fellow

The IAG Executive Committee may appoint:

  • past officers of the IAG

as Fellows in recognition of their valuable service and contributions to the association. The title of IAG Fellow serves to honor individuals who have played a key role in supporting and promoting the field of geodesy through their work within the IAG.

Honorary Status

As a mark of distinction, the IAG Executive Committee may appoint:

  • a merited past IAG President as an Honorary President
  • a merited past IAG Secretary General as an Honorary Secretary General.

This honorary status acknowledges their outstanding commitment and leadership in advancing the mission of the IAG during their tenure.
