According to the IAG By-laws the IAG Executive Committee has the authority to recognize and honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) through dedicated service in leadership roles. These honorary titles serve as a testament to the IAG’s deep appreciation for the commitment and impact of its past leaders, ensuring that their contributions continue to be acknowledged and valued within the geodetic community.

IAG Fellow
At each IUGG/IAG General Assembly, the IAG Executive Committee may appoint past officers of the IAG as Fellows in recognition of their valuable service and contributions to the association.
