IAG – International Association of Geodesy

The International Association of Geodesy (IAG) is one of the constituent associations of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG). It promotes international cooperation in geodesy and coordinates scientific research on the measurement and understanding of the Earth’s geometry, gravity field, and rotation, as well as their temporal variations.
Through its commissions, services, and the Global Geodetic Observing System (GGOS), the IAG supports the development of geodetic standards, observing infrastructure, and data products used worldwide. These activities provide the fundamental geodetic reference frameworks and observations required for applications in Earth system science, satellite navigation, geophysical research, and monitoring global environmental change.
